Historical Markers In New York

There are over 2800 historical markers in the state of New York, and the state of New York has a searchable database for 'em. Not only can you search for markers here, you can get a history of the historical markers, information on what to do if a marker turns up missing, and information on what to do if you want to propose a marker yourself. Markers are searchable only by county, or you can list all the markers if you're patient. There are 37 markers in Tioga county. Listings include the information on the marker and its location, but interestingly not a picture.
