Location Information at the HomeTown Gazetteer

Whether you're looking for location information based on town name, county name, or zip code, you'll find it at the HomeTown Gazetter ( http://Gazetteer.HomeTownLocator.com ). This site provides several search forms for finding location information.

You can start with a populated place search. A search for Springfield found 105 results with a table showing the name of the place, the location, population (which I didn't see in my search results), elevation, and links to several maps: aerial, regional, local, and typographical.

There are three forms for getting census information. You can search for census information by town name, county name, and zip code. I searched for zip code information for 90210. I discovered that that area has almost 21,400 people, the number of housing units and population density, as well as land and water area.

Finally, there are a few tools. You can get an aerial photo of your house (courtesy TerraServer), calculate the distance between places, and find out which towns zip codes are associated with (or vice-versa.) Useful.
