New Google Features -- Travel and Tracking Numbers

Google is offering a couple new search features for specific kinds of information.

TRAVEL INFORMATION -- Type in the three-letter code for an airport followed by the word airport ( jfk airport ). The first result you'll get is a link to view conditions at JFK airport.

NEW NUMBER CODES -- A few weeks ago I covered some unique number searches now available from Google ( http://www.researchbuzz.org/archives/001308.shtml ). Now Google has expanded their number searches with some new offerings: USPS tracking numbers (search for just the number), Vehicle ID number (enter the number) and UPC code (enter the code). I couldn't get the UPC code search to work. The code I tried,0573-0150-30, didn't come up in a search.

I have read some blogs mentioning a new Whois search from Google. Enter Whois and a domain name ( whois google.com ) and you're supposed to get a link to Whois information. I tried to use that syntax but I haven't been able to get it to work. Your milage may vary.
