February 02, 2004Yahoo Announces a Heapin' Helpin' Of Election ResourcesYahoo has announced a bevy of election 2004 resources, with both news and information resources available. But we'll start with news first. There's a new area within Yahoo news called "Elections 2004," which you can access at http://news.yahoo.com/elections/ . Coverage here includes op-ed, editorial cartoons, wire stores, and local coverage stories. There's also profiles of the major democratic candidates. Carol Moseley Braun and Dick Gephardt still have profiles available even though their pictures have been replaced with grim gray boxes saying "Dropped Out." (I think they should team up together as Presidential/VP candidates. "Brown and Gephardt in 2004! Remember when we dropped out? PSYCH!") Over on the right there's stuff that's not news but is election-related, including an election-related events calendar, slideshows, a couple of "interactives" links which were both from the AP when I looked at 'em, and some related categories from the Yahoo Directory. There were also some election lookup resources. Enter your zip code and get your elected officials, or pick an issue and see current bills up for consideration (though it will take a close reading to understand why the "Clean School Buses Act" is listed under technology.)
