March 11, 2004National Image Library for the US Fish and Wildlife ServiceNo, it's not just fish and trees. The US Fish and Wildlife service has a collection of public domain still images relating to nature and forestry. The collection is searchable by keyword, with an advanced search allowing you to search specific description areas or by date, and is available at http://images.fws.gov/ . A search for fish found 369 results, displayed with thumbnails (big thumbnails) in groups of ten. The results on the first page came from the Washington DC Library and the Alaska Historical Image Library. Click on the picture for a very nice information page about the image, including information about the picture itself (including file size, format, dimensions, and resolution), metadata (including title, creator, source, and language), abstract, and date.
