UK Archives to Make WWII Awards Database Available

The BBC is reporting that a new database will "cover all those given awards for bravery in north west Europe between D-Day and the war's end." That's apparently about 12,000 people, though only 600 or so are available at the site. The site is expected to be completed by May 2005.
