USDA Makes A Database of Agriculture Exporters Available

The US Department of Agriculture has launched a free online database of over 3,800 US-based agriculture exporters. The database is available at http://www.fas.usda.gov/agexport/exporter.html ; choose the "Online Searchable Database" link on the left.

This database is extremely searchable. Choose product classifications and categories, type of firm (agent, broker, distributor, etc.), firm location (state), and world region served. You can also search for special item categories (organic, Kosher, HMO, etc.) A search for peanut butter suppliers to a worldwide market found 18 results. Search results include name and contact information for a supplier (address information, etc.)

Clicking on the name of the firm provides additional information including D&B number, annual sales, number of employees, type of firm, and products.
