Guide to Marathons All Over the US and World

Like to run but looking for a reason? Marathon Guide provides information on state and international marathons, as well as news and articles. It's available at http://www.marathonguide.com .

For the guide, look on the left under marathon directory. You can look at US races (which is a list of upcoming races) and international races (ditto.) From these lists you can click on the name of the race and get additional information including official race Web site, and in some cases results from previous races and comments from runners.

For a longer list of races, though, you'll want to use the race search. Here you can search by race name (partial name is okay too), state, country, and date span. I searched for marathons in California between September 1st and December 1st, 2004, and got 14 results which listed date, name, city, and country of the marathon. Small icons next to the name indicate if there are comments, forms, news, or results for that marathon. (The icon key is not on the search results page, but it is on the static listing of US and international races.)

Also available on this site, as previously noted, is news and articles on marathons, as well as a community directory, information on training, and links to running-related sites.
