Information on African Journals

African Journals Online has information about journals available from all over Africa, as well as information on the contents of those journals. It's available at http://www.ajol.info/ .

The front page has a list of journals in alphabetical order as well as from where they originate, from Acta Academica (South Africa) to Zimbabwe Veterinary Journal (Zimbabwe). Click on the journal name and you'll get a list of recent issues. Look at the tabs across the issues page for more information, including a full description, search engine for that publication, and editorial contact information.

I clicked on the Journal of Food Technology in Africa, from Kenya. I got a current issue link and a list of previous issues back to Volume 5, No. 1, in 2000. Clicking on an issue I got a list of nine available articles from that issue, including links to abstracts as well as a link to request full articles.

If you register on the site, you'll also have the option of getting an e-mail alert whenever the titles you specify publish new issues. Registration is free.
