July 15, 2004Search Engine for Classical Piano WorksIt's got information on over 5100 works and over 14000 movements/excerpts. It's got information on over 800 composers and almost fifty countries. It's called Pianopedia and it's available at http://www.pianopedia.com . As you might expect from the subject matter, the search options are a bit different at this site. You may search by composer (there's a list) nationality, piece title, duration, key mode, and work type (piano solo, two pianos, piano and orchestra, etc.) A search for piano solos in A minor found 243 works or work excerpts from 81 composers. Search results are listed with the name of the composer (the first on in this case was Isaac Albéniz) and the title of the work/excerpt. Click on the title of the work and you'll get a list of works, including duration and key, and where to get the sheet music, as well as who it's published by.
