August 09, 2004National Archives are Going Digital?A PC World Story reports that the National Archives are going to offer an Electronic Records Archives, scheduled to open by 2007. However, it won't be complete; the archives are not expected to be finished until 2011, when they will contain several petabytes of data. (1 petabyte = 1 million gigabytes.) Information included in the archives varies a lot: services records, historic documents, documentation, etc. No word on the order of what will be archived.
