September 01, 2004FindArticles Adds a Premium ComponentI went over to FindArticles ( http://www.findarticles.com ) yesterday to look for an article, and I noticed that they have something that seems to be new -- or at least it's new to me: premium content. FindArticles, you may remember, is a search engine for periodical articles. I hated it for years because it had mindbendingly lovely content but no way to sort or search by date. That's been fixed. At this writing it claims over 5 million articles from over 900 publications. If you run a search you'll see that some articles have a premium denotation next to them. (There's also an option to search free content only.) When I looked at one of the premium items, I found myself at a pointer to Highbeam with an offer for a free trial subscription. Another interesting bit: the front page now links to a recently-added articles list. ( http://www.findarticles.com/p/page?sb=newArticles ). The articles aren't necessarily new; when I looked at it the articles included a lot of items from Business Wire and PRNewswire, March 2004. Posted to Publications-Search | TrackBack
