Gmail-Powered Blogging

Gallina version 0.1, a proof of concept to post to a 'blog with Gmail messages.

Gmail doesn't have an API, I don't think, so I wonder why all the brainpower for this stuff is focused on Google and not, say, Yahoo. Is there a reason? Gmail easier to get to, Yahoo very 'bot unfriendly?
