Track News Buzz By Name

If you like sites like Yahoo Buzz which tell you about the most popular people and topics in searches, you'll like NewsbyName. It scans news for names and ranks name popularity as well as being a dandy name news search. It's available at http://www.newsbyname.co.uk/ .

You can't search this site by keyword. Well, I tried, doing a search for typhoon, but got no results. On the other hand, a search for Tiger Woods found plenty of results mostly from Reuters and the BBC. On the lower right of the front page there's a list of "Hot Names" (click on them for news stories). Below that there's a list of this week's movers and below THAT a link of last week's names in the news.

This site isn't really a general search engine like Google News, but if you're interested in people in the news it's very interesting.
