November 03, 2004Metasearch for Trademark RegistrationsMarkenbusiness is offering a free meta-search of trademark databases all over the world. While it is free it provides only a limited amount of information; otherwise you're gonna have to bust out the Euros. The check searches USA, Canada, Mexico, the database of WIPO International Trademarks, European Community Trademarks, and more. It's available at http://www.markenbusiness.com (look for the light blue box on the right.) Run a keyword search (there doesn't appear to be a mechanism for an advanced search; why not?) and a popup window will appear warning you that your search can take up to two minutes. Results are a list of trademark areas (from German Trademarks to Irish Trademarks, the list totals 18 collections) along with the number of documents in each one. Click on a collection and you'll get the cost for purchasing information on that collection -- the site says that collection information includes "important information about the trademark owners, the type of trademark, the goods- and service classes, the date of registration and the status of the trademark." Prices seem to be based on the number of items found: 3 documents were 6.87 EUR, a collection of 121 documents was 277.09 EUR. Posted to Government-Law-Specific | TrackBack
