November 02, 2004The Chip History CenterIf you've been reading ResearchBuzz for any length of time you probably plumped to the fact that I'm a nerd. What did it? Was it the references to Monty Python? The perl fiddling? The search wonkiness? Whatever the case I'll admit to it. Further I'll admit I've found a Web site that's for ubernerds (metanerds?) Dig the Chip History Museum at http://www.chiphistory.org . No, it's now cow chips or chocolate chips or potato chips. It's computer chips. Semiconductors. This site offers several sections, including a historical gallery -- thrill at the LFE Corporation-501 Plasma Etcher! The pictures in the gallery are both product pictures and spec sheets. I also saw some diagrams. The gallery covers four sections: the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. The site also offers videos relevant to semiconductors, documents (the one I looked at looked like a really old product brochure) and key presentations relevant to the semiconductor industry. Interesting; I liked the galley best. Posted to Business-Industry-Specific | TrackBack
