Search Engine Gigablast Rolling Out New Features

There are many search engines I monitor on a regular basis. I mean I deliberately monitor certain of their pages for changes. I'm going to have to add Gigablast to that list, as they keep slipping in changes without me noticing until after the fact.

There are a couple of new items of interest. First of all there's a free site search at http://sitesearch.gigablast.com/ . Those of you who have big sites and want free search, try Gigablast -- it searches up to 100,000 page sites. And if you're not yet in Gigablast's index, it'll go to your site and start pulling in your pages.

There's also a new service to get your results in XML format, though it's limited the same as the Google API: 1000 queries a day of ten results each. You can get the format for results and all the URL switches (oo oo! URL switches!) at http://www.gigablast.com/searchfeed.html .

And a quick note about Matt Wells and Gigablast. A reader wrote me having some trouble with a new feature offered by Gigablast. I forwarded the problem to Matt -- during the holiday week between Christmas and New Year -- and Matt responded instantly with a solution. Matt is on the ball. Many thanks, Matt!
