Ask Jeeves Finally Gets Around to a Blog

Ask Jeeves finally has a blog, and I've lost my bet with myself over which search engine would be the next one with a 'blog. (I was betting either Gigablast or Vivisimo. I owe myself a peanut butter sandwich.)

The blog is available at http://blog.ask.com/ , and it's just adorable, featuring the mug of Kaushal Kurapati, also known as JeevesGuy at WebmasterWorld, and a couple of tilted photos. Unfortunately while it is adorable, it is not informative.

A blog is an incredible opportunity for a communication channel between a search engine and the public. So USE IT ALREADY! I applaud Mr. Kurapati for removing his JeevesGuy mask, but instead of just linking to his first post at WebmasterWorld, why not include it on the 'blog? Why are you letting them get all your yummy content? Why not an archive of all your posts to WebmasterWorld?
