February 17, 2005Forest Laboratories Announces Clinical Trial RegistryForest Laboratories announced last week that they've made available a clinical trial registry at http://www.forestclinicaltrials.com . It's free to access after you agree to the terms and conditions. Please note this paragraph in the T&C: "Should any viewer of a Forest published document respond with information including feedback data, such as questions, comments, suggestions, or the like regarding the content of any such Forest document, such information shall be deemed to be non- confidential, and Forest shall have no obligation of any kind with respect to such information and shall be free to reproduce, use, disclose, and distribute the information to others without limitation. Forest shall be free to use any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques contained in such information for any purpose whatsoever including but not limited to developing, manufacturing, and marketing products incorporating such information. " Note to self: don't write to Forest Laboratories. Anyway. When you get through all that you'll have the option of searching ongoing or completed studies. At the moment the lists of drugs are fairly short, so they're manageable without searching. The ongoing registry lists six drugs. Each drug listing contains study ID, title, start date, the key objective, and whether or not the recruitment is open. According to the site the completed studies part of the registry provides information on completed studies of commercially available drugs for both approved, and non-approved uses. At the moment there's nothing in the approved section (I guess they're still working on it; the press release says "Full data summaries for completed qualifying clinical studies will be summarized and posted to the registry by December 31, 2005.") and one item the non-approved section: study information on Escitalopram & Citalopram. The information on Escitalopram & Citalopram linked to completed study summaries in PDF format. Outside of links to the PDF documents and the study titles, no other information was provided on the page, like the date the study was completed or the date it was made available on the site.
