February 24, 2005Reference Engine for NumbersI don't know how to describe this, so I'll going to call it a reference engine for numbers. Its official name is Number Server, and you can find it at http://number.inelegant.org/ . It's simple; search for a number. The search result will give you the number's sine, cosine, tangent, Natural logarithm, square root, total squared, total cubed, and other information. Some of those numbers are linked so you can search for them as well. At the bottom there are links to the previous and next number in the sequence, as well as a Google pointer to a search for number you specified. Information is also available in text or XML format. There's a little bit of documentation available at http://number.inelegant.org/docs . I suspect I am not enough of a math nerd to appreciate this. Posted to Science-Mathematics | TrackBack
