Computers in Libraries -- Connecticut Avenue Besides the Phone

To balance out the picture of the horrible phone I took some pictures of nice things on Connecticut Avenue. Connecticut Avenue is a great place to walk up and down -- there are enough things to see that you don't feel like you're just plodding along, but it's hilly enough that you feel like you actually got some exercise.

Slinky Head There were all kinds of odd displays in the windows, including people getting their hair cut. (I wasn't nervy enough to take pictures of them.) I don't quite get the idea of a mannequin head with Slinkys all over it, but perhaps I am not urbane enough. I forgot to get the picture of the purse-glasses-case thingie in the bottom of the display. It was made up like a daschund.

Dupont Flowers Most of the time we were at CiL it was overcast though not rainy. Friday however it was wonderful outside and spring seemed to be waiting impatiently to hit the scene. Unfortunately we were way early for the Cherry Blossom Festival, which starts this Saturday ( http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/cms/index.php?id=390 , no kidding) and only saw one cherry tree that was even thinking about blooming. Unfortunately that was on the way out of town after we had already gotten lost once so no pictures for you. (I did manage to hang out the window and take a couple of nice pictures of the Washington Monument.)

Birdhouse DC seemed to be filled with those little birds I mentally file as chirpus begbreadcrumbus. This guy was making a huge racket as we walked by his house, but he seemed comfortable enough.
