March 17, 2005Computers in Libraries -- WednesdayI went to four sessions yesterday in addition to the keynote and went to the dead technologies night session, and I wonder why I'm tired when I get to the room and don't want to blog? Hmmmm... Anyway, yesterday was a lot of fun and very thought inducing. I have some questions for two of the sessions I went to, so I'm going to e-mail them and see if I hear back. Meanwhile I'll write up the other two sessions and try -- try to do justice to the dead and emerging technologies session, though I don't think it's gonna happen. After the sessions we walked down to Wrapworks and had an In Like Fin -- catfish, beans, rice, mangos, and more in a spinach wrap. It was listed as somewhat spicy but I thought it was perfect. Connecticut Avenue is generally very nice. The sidewalks are clean and there are lots of little shops. But to get to Wrapworks we had to pass by this phone that's so foul I think it's an art product or setup for a commercial shoot or something. Highlights include the bottle of vodka on the platform and the torn out change return. It doesn't match the rest of the street at all. Maybe they were shooting a TV movie right over here or something. I'm skipping out on the keynote to get some writing done, and then I'm having lunch with -- uh, I guess I better ask him if it's okay to talk about it first. Stay tuned. But I'll be in the sessions this afternoon and will be doing more blogging tonight. Posted to | TrackBack
