March 27, 2005Database of Travel Locations for Metal MusicMy experience with metal includes only a little bit of Metallica and playing Yngwie Malmsteen's "Rising Force" a zillion times back in my younger loud-music days. (Though vedic metal sounds pretty interesting ... any recommendations?) However, if you're into metal, you might want to check out the Metal Travel Guide, which lists information about over 1200 metal clubs, record stores, and other venues in 80 different countries. It's available at http://www.metaltravelguide.com/ . Venues are listed by location on the left side of the page. I looked at the ones in Europe. Countries are listed from Austria to Ukraine; I chose Italy. This took me to a page listing over 25 different clubs and record stores, sorted by city. Information for the venues included a description, times metal bands played, address and phone number, and Web site address. While some of the venue descriptions included descriptions of the metal (speed, thrash, etc.) the venues do not appear to be divided up by metal type. Posted to Aesthetics-Music-Specific | TrackBack
