April 27, 2005Directory of Niche SitesThis was built to help Webmasters, but I think it's pretty groovy for researchers too so I'm going to cover it. The Incoming Links Development Guide and Directory, at http://www.incominglinks.com/ , lists niche sites with guidelines on how to become listed in them. The sites are arranged in a subject index with top level categories ranging from Animals to Travel and Tourism. All the categories I looked at also had subcategories. "Drill down" enough and you'll get to a listing of sites. Each site listing includes a description, a link type (whether it's direct or redirected), how much it costs, and a link to the submission information. If you're looking at this site for research purposes, all that should be enough for you, but if you're looking at the site to develop your links there's a little bit more. The site offers guidelines on how to promote your site and how to request links to other sites. Aside from a couple of quibbles, I think the information is solid. But I still like this directory mainly as a reference tool. Go check out the RSS directories; you'll find a ton of 'em. Posted to Search Engines-Various | TrackBack
