April 04, 2005Scotsman Expands Archive to 1950, Makes Free OfferThe Scotsman launched a new digital archived a while ago, which was covered in ResearchBuzz in December. But now they've expanded the archive and announced a free offer for folks in the US and Canada. Before the archive covered from 1817 to 1900. Now the archive covers from 1817 to 1950. While the archive is usually a cost service, The Scotsman is offering 24 hours of free access to residents of the US and Canada who register at http://archive.scotsman.com on April 6, starting at midnight. (That's midnight EDT.) Don't feel like registering? Okay. The Scotsman is also making a selection of articles available for free to celebrate Tartan Week (which is April 2-10.) Articles cover events including the Lincoln assassination, the sinking of the Titanic, and the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. Posted to Publications-Archives | TrackBack
