April 19, 2005Tracking Hot Links: Old News, BabyEver wonder who finds those cool links first that then flood all over the Internet? A site is attempting to point out the hot stuff and figure out who's finding it, and who's getting to it when it's old news, baby. No, really, that's the name of the site. OldNewsBaby.com is available at http://www.oldnewsbaby.com/ . The premise is simple: sign up, and when you come across a link you think is going to be hot, put it here. And if that link becomes hot, you get bragging rights. (Signing up requires only a name, user name, and password.) Items are listed with URL only, no description. There are stats for each URL which include how many users have visited the site, and which user was first. There will have to be a critical mass of users to make this site very useful, but since there are recent listings and hot listings available as RSS feeds, I'm going to watch it for a while and see if makes a good discovery tool. I only wish there were some description listings available for the URLs... Posted to Internet-Tools | TrackBack
