May 29, 2005Extremely Cool Collection of 78s At Internet ArchiveI don't know why I haven't mentioned this cool collection of 78s at the Internet Archive before. They're available at http://www.archive.org/audio/audiolisting-browseartists.php?collection=78rpm . The page I'm pointing to leads to a list of musicians. You may recognize here Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, and Woodrow Wilson. Click on an artist name and you'll get a list of recordings from that artist (most of the ones I saw had only one or two.) Click on the name of the recording and you'll get a list of songs you can download in MP3 format (in some cases only one). There's also a place for audio reviews but I didn't see any for the recordings I looked at. Another great spot for old music. Posted to Aesthetics-Music | TrackBack
