May 23, 2005Yahoo Offers Publisher's Guide to RSSYahoo has released a guide to RSS for content publishers, which is now available at http://publisher.yahoo.com/rssguide . This guide is less about rolling an RSS feed and more about what to do once you've got an RSS feed, specifically what to do with Yahoo. There are lots of nifty little nuggets buried in this guide -- Yahoo360 will soon support RSS (another resource I need to write up), a lovely list of RSS locations for various blog publishing services/software (including Blogger, MSN Spaces, etc.), a quick way to roll a My Yahoo feed button, how to get usage data about your feed from Yahoo (nifty!), and some teasers about future income-generating opportunities for content publishers. It would be nice if this site got a little bit more into RSS feeds with media enclosures (ala podcasting) -- or did I miss it? I would also like a little bit more info for publishers who want to integrate Yahoo's RSS content into their own site -- publishers can be both creators and consumers/repurposers of RSS, after all. But there's a lot of useful information in here; a good start. Posted to Internet-Technology-RSS | TrackBack
