June 29, 2005Social Bookmarking for PDF DocumentsTen thousand thanks to LibraryPlanet for a pointer to Yummy, a PDF directory that runs on tags and is hooked into a print-on-demand service. PDF files tend to be more information-based, and to a certain extent more academic. This is just enough of a common ground to make this an interesting bunch of files. You can check Yummy out at http://yummy.printfu.org/ . On the front page there's a list of the most active Yummy users (at this writing the most active person had a list of 34 PDFs, so I suspect this is a fairly new resource. It's also in Alpha.) You can search what's here by keyword, e-mail, or URL. I searched for Perl. There were two results. Results include who linked to it and the tags under which it was linked. There's an RSS feed for any searches you care to do. Additionally, there's a "Print on Demand" link. This takes you to a service that'll print and bind a PDF file for you -- for a price of course. In addition to keyword search, you can also see the most popular files (with an RSS feed, natch), and a list of tags down the right side of the page. Posted to Internet-Technology-Tagging | TrackBack
