August 04, 2005Cougar Sightings in Washington StateJust to prove that there are databases for everything, the state of Washington has a cougar sightings database at http://wdfw.wa.gov/enf/danger/reporting/ . You can search by county, by keyword, or by year. (Currently only 2005 is available.) Reports are extensive and include the context of the sighting, the "confidence level" of the sighting (sometimes it's "unlikely," I saw at least one reported attack where the report writer concluded that an animal was probably attacked/killed by coyotes), action taken, estimated monetary loss (if animals were killed/property destroyed), etc. Posted to US-Washington | TrackBack
