August 14, 2005Your Ancestors on a Google MapYes yes, I will shut up about mapping any second now. I just thought this was cool. It would be even more cool if it were do it yourself, but -- MapYourAncestors.com ( http://www.mapyourancestors.com/ ), will take a family tree and photos you provide and put it on a Google Map. The front page of the site has a family tree for George Bush, though there's at least one error (number 21 is listed as having been born in 1941 and died in 1917). How do you get in on this? MapYourAncestors has a couple of Excel spreadsheets you can download. One is for beginners and the other is a full-fledged family tree for all you pro genealogists. Allow them 48 hours to generate a map and voila, your tree is on Google Maps. The service is free though they request support through donations and ad clicks. Posted to Genealogy | TrackBack
