A Meta-Tag Search -- Sorta

Looking for a place to do a tag search that'll give you an overview of many different tags in many different categories? Check out Guten Tag at http://creative-mobs.com/gutentag/ ; it's not exactly a tag meta-search, but it's useful.

I don't think it's a meta-search because of its layout; it divides its resources into tabs, so instead of paging through many results all on one set of pages, you browse through tags. Results also don't seem to be sorted by date but rather by source.

Run a tag search -- Ajax is nice. Your results will be divided up into tabs, under which will be tag search results from various places. The tabs include Posts (Technorati, Icerocket), Bookmarks (Delicious, Scuttle, Yahoo, Blogmarks), Photos (Flickr, Smugmug), Podcasts (Delicious, Odeo), Videos (YouTube), and "Other" (43 Things). Where appropriate screen shots and content summaries are included.

It's nice to see a tag search where so many things are available, but I'd make two big changes. First I'd add more sources. They're popping up all over the place so that shouldn't be a big deal. Second I'd try to mix the results somehow -- relevance? Date of posting? Random? Right now it's too easy to look at the results and say, "Oh, it's just del tags" or Flickr tags or whatever, because you're not going all the way to the bottom.

Still despite those two things this is very useful for getting an overview of what a particular tag offers! Take a look.
