Carpool / Ride Sharing Resource for North Carolina

The state of North Carolina has an online database of ride sharing opportunities at http://www.sharetheridenc.org/. You'll need to register to use the site. Registration is free but the amount of information they require is icky. I suspect they'll get more signups if they have a) an overt privacy policy (I couldn't find one) and b) direct contact information instead of having to specify a county. I went and checked the domain registration, and it looks like the site is registered to Triangle Transit Authority, but I'd love that information to be directly on the site.

If all the information on the site was behind a database that required really icky registration, I wouldn't bother to link to it. But the site also has several links to information about carpooling/vanpooling in North Carolina as well as links to general transportation information. Bicycle links are sadly absent.

Update: The Town of Cary is going to start their own carpooling program; see more details at http://www.wral.com/news/5045068/detail.html?rss=ral&psp=news.
