New Firefox Available for Download

Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 is now available for download at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/. With Firefox Beta is Beta, so if that makes you nervous don't download the new Firefox until the final is released later this year.

Release notes are available at http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/1.5beta1.html. Improvements in the new version include better pop-up blocking, RSS discovery, and improvements for Mac OS X.

Update: Reader MI points out that the 1.5 beta is vulnerable to recently-disclosed security vulnerabilities in Firefox. So skip it; stick with the latest Firefox (1.0.7) until the beta is made more secure. More information on the security issue: http://mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=7400.
