Ask Jeeves Updates Their Desktop Search

Ask Jeeves has announced an update of their Desktop Search product in a 'blog post at http://blog.ask.com/2005/11/new_ajds_update.html. Some new features to the search product include indexing of iTunes metadata, full Outlook Express support, and enhanced previews for Office files.

I had the opportunity to do comparisons between the various search engines' desktop search products, and Ask Jeeves came out a little thin, mostly because of their lack of plug-ins to extend what could be indexed. So it was a relief to read in this 'blog post the following: "(For those who have been asking about API and Extension support, rest assured they are on the roadmap.)"

Actually I'd like to hear a lot more about AJ and APIs in general!
