Getting Information on Flight Cancellations

The Wall Street Journal had an article on resources online for finding the most frequently-canceled flights. The WSJ requires payment and registration, but sometimes the article get printed elsewhere, like at http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05313/602803.stm.

One of the resources mentioned is FlightStats, at http://www.flightstats.com. There are actually several different ways to check flight information here. You can check and see the real-time status of a flight (you can even just specify two points of a route and get a list of all the flights for what appears to be that day.) You can also check the history on-time and cancellation percentage of flights between two routes, which are grouped by carrier and then rated (very good, good, poor, etc.)

The article also mentions the resources available at the Bureau of Transportation Statistics -- http://www.bts.gov/. These statistics are not as current as FlightStats.com, but there are some nice summaries available at the site.
