November 04, 2005Something at Google Actually Leaves BetaBut I kid Google. Google has announced on their blog that their search tool, Google Desktop, has left beta. Among the new features are a sidebar for Google Maps and a whole host of new third-party plug-ins, including ones that support iTunes control and a simple calendar. The full Desktop plug-ins list, which is getting crazy-huge, is available at http://desktop.google.com/plugins/. Don't forget to check out the brand-new Inside Google Desktop blog, which has only a couple of entries at the moment but provides more technical information on Google Desktop's upgrade and developer support.
