A Search Engine Based on Site Maps

This is kinda interesting. There's a search engine that's doing nothing but taking submissions of Google-type sitemaps. Try it out at http://www.sitemapengine.com/index.php.

There's a link to upload the site map, a page explaining the search engine, and pointers to a few tools for generating site maps.

As far as searching is concerned there isn't much here yet, and especially not many English-language pages. A search for Google had as its first page of results a site map from a site in China. A search for Yahoo found three pages from the same site and one page in Spanish.

Taking a standard established by one search engine and building another search engine out of it. Surprised it wasn't thought of earlier. Nifty.
