RawSugar Announces Updates, Incentive Package

RawSugar, a tagging resource last covered here in September, has announced some changes to their site.

You may now set a privacy level per saved URL; you can set the URL to be visible to you alone, to your contacts, or everybody. When searching for tags, you may now review results in order of recency or order of popularity. The URL format for searching for tags is http://www.rawsugar.com/search/example, where example is the keyword for which you're searching. Stemming is supported now; both singular and plural forms of a word are included in a search. You can also now get your results as RSS feeds; I don't know if that was available before or not, but at any rate Kebberfegg has been updated to generate RawSugar RSS feeds.

RawSugar now allows you to publish your RawSugar content on your own blog/site; you can get more details about what that is and how it works at http://blog.rawsugar.com/blog/?p=26. Conversely you can now import your WordPress blog into RawSugar, more platforms are promised to be coming soon.

Finally, RawSugar is offering incentives to people who publish directories on RawSugar. From their announcement. "Beginning this December, RawSugar is offering monthly payments to members whose RawSugar directory attracts the most visitors. Visitor frequency (hits) will be tabulated by RawSugar. The top 20 directories will receive cash payments with number one receiving $500 per month." Interesting, but please note that the legal endnote on the blog entry about this new program says "The Raw Sugar incentive program begins Dec 1, 2005 and ends April 1, 2006."
