allAfrica.com reports in a story from November 21st that the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency is documenting medicinal plants located in the country by graphic region. Information about each specimen, including research findings, will form part of an online traditional medicine library.

An article in Australian IT reports that the Archive Offices of Ireland and Canada are partnering to publish online two Irish censuses dating 1901 and 1911. The 3-year project is of interest to Canadians because as many as 13% claim Irish roots. Census records will detail birth country, literacy level and much more of each individual in hospitals and prisons as well as homes and schools.

The Library of Congress has launched a campaign to partner with other national libraries and construct a World Digital Library with a $3 million donation from Google Inc. With additional private funding, the Librarian of Congress is planning bilingual projects with Oriental nations, Muslim countries and others because only half of the documents published today are in English. The LC currently has other projects in motion, one which documents ties between the United States and other countries such as the Netherlands, Spain and Russia.
