January 12, 2006Getting Tagging Stats With Deli.ckomaTa to Mr. Library Stuff for his pointer to Deli.ckoma, at http://deli.ckoma.net/stats. Deli.ckoma provides stats on del.icio.us, and it's pure ol' fashioned nerdiness. (In a good way.) There are two sets of stats here, illustrated by graphs. There's a stat that shows the number of posts by date (my, that's some holiday dip), monthly posts, posts by day-of-the-week (I would not have guessed Tuesday as the high-post day), and the posts by hour of the day (which also follows a rather unexpected curve.) The there's the tag stats, which show the number of tags people use per bookmark -- both overall, and just for the month of January. (The graphs looked very much alike.) As expected, many people just use one tag. What was not expected: measurable numbers of posts have up to ten tags. Really unexpected: more posts have ten tags than nine tags. If you'd like to get in on the fun the creator of the site is offering a raw xml output for you to incorporate into your own projects. There's also an about page where you can learn how these stats are generated and be reminded that Deli is not associated with del.icio.us. Posted to Internet-Technology-Tagging | TrackBack
