Historical Photographs of Cuba

The Cuban Heritage Digital Collection of the Otto G. Richter Library of the University of Miami has put online over 600 photographs of Cuba from the Manuel R. Bustamante Photograph Collection. The collection is available at http://www.library.miami.edu/chcdigital/ chc5017_main.html .

The pictures span from the turn of the 20th century to the 1930's. A finder's aid allows you to search through the collection's series, or you may browse selected images via topic (churches and altars, faces of Cuba, cities and towns, etc.) Pictures are presented on pages with a set of numbered thumbnails at the top of the page and a set of descriptions of those thumbnails at the bottom of the page.

The finder's aid presents individual pictures with descriptions. Clicking on the name of the picture provides a good-sized picture, and clicking on the picture provides a very large high- resolution image.
