Directory of ESL Programs Now Available

If you're interested in English as a Second Language (ESL) programs in the United States or elsewhere, you might want to check out English.StudyAbroad.com ( http://www.english.studyabroad.com/ ). Their site offers a directory of over 1,700 ESL programs from over 1,550 program providers worldwide.

There are two ways to find programs on this site -- browsing the USA listings, and browsing the listings of the rest of the world. USA listings are broken down by state. World listings are broken down by country/region. For the most part browsing this way works, though it doesn't always -- searching for ESL programs in Asia brought up a listing for the University of Minnesota, Morris (which is fine if that university has a program in Asia, but that's not made clear in the school description.)

Information provided for each program varies. Possible information elements include address, phone, location of classes (sometimes very generally, like "China,"), when they're held, overview, curriculum highlights, and descriptions of certain program types (like intensive English-language programs.) Sometimes there are Web and e-mail links, but less often than I would have thought.
