The (US) Government Wants You to Recreate

Why do I always find these links in the winter? Summer rolls around, I can't find a vacation/travel site to save my life. Winter rolls around, I'm combing them out of my hair. What the heck? Anyway, Uncle Sam wants you to recreate, and he's proven it by putting up a Web site called http://www.recreation.gov/ .

Over on the left you'll find a series of activities to browse through, from Auto Touring to Winter Sports. There's also a map of the United States; click on a state and you'll get a list of parks in that area, and who their managing partners are. There were 134 such places in Ohio. Be sure to click on the name of the recreation area for a great detail page which includes description, directions, contact information, and even a weather forecast.

There are several other links of use here, including a list of state tourism sites, national recreation trails, recreation maps, and FAQs.
