December 18, 2003Feedster Now Offering My Feedster for RSS FeedsOkay, if you were avoiding using RSS feeds because you didn't want to (or couldn't) install any software, you've got a new option. RSS search engine Feedster is now offering My Feedster, a Web-based RSS aggregator. MyFeedster is located at http://www.feedster.com/myfeedster.php . You will need to be registered to use MyFeedster; registration is free and requires only user name, e-mail, and password. Once you're logged in you'll have several options: you'll be able to add feeds, delete feeds, and import OPML files (or export 'em!) Once you've added some feeds, you'll have three tabs on your MyFeedster page: Feeds, Posts, and Options. When viewing the feeds you'll have the option of viewing feeds updated recently or not. (If Feedster doesn't index a particular feed, that feed won't have a timestamp.) Posts will show you the posts of one Web log at a time, with the option to search your feeds. And the Options tab takes you back to the ability to add or delete feeds, etc. I like the concept. I love the fact that this is hooked into Feedster. I can be searching, find a cute feed, and one-click it into an online feed list .Very nice. But there are some problems. Feedster reacts very sluggishly sometimes. The "Next Feed" function on the posts page doesn't work for me. (Is it because I'm using Opera?) The ability to delete feeds from the Feeds page would be nice, as now you have to go into Options, go to Delete Feeds, and choose which feed you want to delete. A good start here, definitely something you should try, but some tweaking is needed. Posted in the following categories: Search Engines-Feedster | TrackBack
