March 16, 2004Valley Forge Muster Roll(I'm getting all historical today.) Genealogists who had family in the American Revolution, you'll enjoy this. The Valley Forge Muster Roll (pick "Muster Roll" from the left side of http://valleyforgemusterroll.org/ ) contains information on those soldiers who served at the Valley Forge Encampment under General George Washington between December 1777 and June 1778. Though the overview of the site notes that 30,000 soldiers served in this encampment, it's not clear how many are listed here. The search function allows you to search by regiment, state, or last name. A search for "Smith" found dozens of results (no result count unfortunately) in a table that detailed ID number, last name, first name, state, rank, regiment, and a detail link. The detail link provided additional information about the soldier, including bridgade, company, division, and muster roll status for each month of the Valley Forge encampment. Not all information is available for all listings. Posted in the following categories: History-Wars and Conflicts | TrackBack
