Quick Take: AntiPhishing Toolbar for IE and Firefox

It sorta sounds like it ought to go on your armpits, but SpoofStick is instead a browser extension designed to minimize the impact of phishing. You can download it for free at http://www.corestreet.com/spoofstick/ . (Dear CoreStreet, your press release URL -- www.CoreStreet.com/SpoofStick -- generates a 404 error. Might want to take out the caps there, homies. Love, ResearchBuzz.)

The extension works on IE or Mozilla Firefox. What it does is show the core domain of whatever site you're visiting, with the idea that phishing scams will not be able to fool you if you have a toolbar showing the real top level domain of a visited page in big green letters. I have not yet tried it, but there's a complete explanation and screen shot, and while there is no privacy policy, the page does contain the statement, "SpoofStick contains no adware, spyware, nagware or other unhealthy additives."
