An SEO Contest Aimed at Google

Search Engine Optimization experts are competing to see who can optimize their pages best to rank highest in a search for a nonsense phrase which I'm not going to repeat here, because I'm not playing. You can get all the details at http://searchenginewatch.com/sereport/article.php/3360231.

I am of two minds about this kind of thing. On one hand, I can understand Google's desire to provide the most organic results possible. On the other hand, I can understand why SEO experts would want some kind of arena where they can spotlight their skills and have competitions like this. It would be nice if there were some kind of search engine sandbox where SEOs and others who are interested in understanding how search engines index could do this kind of thing.
