New News Search Engine

Thanks to SearchEngineJournal.com for the pointer to new news search engine FeedsFarm. I'm always looking for news search engines that'll provide keyword-based RSS feeds. it's available at http://www.FeedsFarm.com.

Compared to other news search engines, it's a little small -- it searches 1930 news feeds. Compare this to Google News' 4500 searches -- but they're all about the syndication feeds so I will forgive them. The front page has several categories of news, including world, business, sports, and science. Each category has an RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, and Atom feed.

There's also a query box. A search for "searching" found 81 results. Near the bottom of the page there are syndication feed links for your query, again in RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0, and Atom formats. They look a little funky ( http://www.feedsfarm.com/x/1.0-searching ) but that's what they are.

FeedsFarm also has a top search listing ( http://www.feedsfarm.com/t.html ) and does encourage news sources to submit their RSS feeds.
