Squirrels On Campus

Squirrels. Are they adorable little critters who look so cute as they romp through your yard, or are they rampaging little butterbeans who eat your wooden birdhouses because they're too stupid to find their acorns? My opinion varies depending on whether or not I've had to replace a birdhouse lately. If you live on a college campus you may find you're dealing with squirrels a lot. Campuses are so squirrel-friendly that there's an entire Web page based on squirrel-rating campuses. It's at http://gottshall.com/squirrels/campsq.htm .

The page has a list of campuses -- from UCLA to Stetson University -- which ranks squirrel populations from 1 to 5 cute little squirrel icons, 5 being most populated/infested (depending on your opinion of squirrels.) Each ranking comes with reports from squirrel observers, including reports of squirrels stealing "Taco Bell", squirrels jumping out at people, students getting beaned by falling squirrels, squirrels looking amazingly cute, etc.

This page is part of Jon's World o' Squirrels, which contains squirrel links, mini-essays (discover the shocking similarity between squirrels and whales), photo sections, and squirrel-related businesses.
